Saturn Pro Kit
Can't tell you how many compliments this Mapex White Marine Pearl got this summer during the Ely Tour. This Saturn Pro series with its Walnut/Maple shell is one killer touring kit. I'm very fortunate to be playing this one of a kind gorgeous kit with micro toms. This kit sings and is quite the looker. Its funny, when we played festival gigs all the other drummers raved about this kit. They were all playing the same very expensive so called custom drum kit made in California. I honestly couldn't say the same about their kits.

Pro M Micro Kit - Jazz/Fusion
I never heard such a great sounding kit for its size. A whole lot of tone, for such a compact kit. I usually use this kit for my straight-ahead jazz and acid jazz/hip-hop gigs. The drums sound incredible live. The 13" x 5" snare is a monster, just the right crack and resonance. Besides the great sound, weekend warriors will love the convenience and portability of the Micro, especially when a drum tech is not at hand. One other note: While fooling with head combinations and tunings, I actually got a Bonham bass drum sound from this 18" x 14" bass drum! Mapex
Orion TBE7246 Studio Kit This a beautiful looking and sounding drum kit. I chose the Gold Fade or Gold Ice as they call it now. Simply beautiful. Thin maple shells that are all the rage. They work in every musical situation. It records like a dream. Last but not least, the hardware is solid, dependable, logical, easily adjustable and very attractive.

Deep Forest Project (100% Cherry Wood)
Deep Forest kits are simply stunning. Developed by my good friend, Josh Touchton, these drums are amazing. Josh's knowledge is vast and his dedication to new drum sounds is remarkable. The kit has the most beautiful (slightly darker) natural wood finish. The gold plated hardware makes the kit even more stunning. I find the sound reminiscent of birch. Black
PantherAll Black Panther Snares are handcrafted to the same exacting specifications and feature maximum sensitivity, remarkable clarity and incredible resonance. Black Panther snares are also equipped with low-mass, single-point-of-contact lugs, easy-to-operate throw-offs, nylon tension rod washers and precision machined brass lug nuts. Janus I use the Janus Hardware System because I needed comfortable and reliable drum hardeware. Janus pedals and Hi Hat stands are ultra-ergonomic, ultra-durable tools, specifically designed for today' professional drummer. Sabian
Cymbals Sabian has all the sounds and colors
I need in a cymbal. Sabian Hand Hammered cymbals Vater
Drumsticks I use American Hickory 8A, Sweet Rides, and the Wire Retractable Rubber Grip Brushes. 8As work great for almost any type of music. I prefer the sweet rides and brushes for jazz and blues. All the sticks are perfectly balanced and produce a full fat sound that is very responsive. Their durability can’t be matched. Attack
Drumheads You can't beat Attack drumheads for their playability and durability. I use them on every kit! All toms get thin skin 2's two-ply clear on batter side, single ply clear on the resonant. Bass drum gets thin skin 2's two-ply clear or one-ply, no overtone. Snare gets one-ply coated batter and regular snare bottom.
I use Audix microphones for live sound and recording. They have a great tight sound and capture the true resonance of my kit. They are the ultimate drum microphone! |
